There were a lot of kids at nursery last Sunday when Nick and I were on duty. We managed to sing 1 song together with the kids- the song of blessing over morning snacks (comprised of Goldfish and graham crackers, the preferred snack of all churches it seems). The one song goes like this, “God our Father, once again, thank you for the blessings, Amen.” This song is sung every week before snack time.
On the car ride back home, Nathaniel was humming a song and asked me to sing it with him. With garbled and unclear toddler words, I couldn’t really understand what he wanted me to sing. I listened a bit more carefully, thinking through all that we had sung that day and finally understood that he wanted me to sing The Snack Blessing Song! So we sung it and it turns out Nathaniel knows the whole song! Here is a clip.
