We spent this Christmas in California and boy, was it a good one! There were many firsts; here are the top ten:

1. Nathaniel’s first airplane trip
2. Lydia’s extended family’s first time seeing Nathaniel
3. Nathaniel’s first time seeing the Pacific Ocean
4. Nathaniel’s attempt at saying 2 words
5. Nathaniel’s first carousel ride
6. Visiting the Wild Animal Park in San Diego, California
7. Nathaniel’s first hike in the San Gabriel Mountains
8. Sleeping in a pink and brown pack n’ play (it was borrowed)
9. Belly Laughing for 2 minutes straight
10. Seeing a waterfall

4. Clicking with his tongue
5. Playing hide/seek or chase with us
6. Cruising
7. Reverse while on his belly
8. Eating finger foods like a pro
9. Being disciplined, learning “NO”
10. Sense of humor- very responsive to people talking to him

I took this, amazingly enough!

Nathaniel spent part of his afternoon last week on a blanket outside on our front lawn. The weather was warm enough for him to be outside with all the beautiful fall leaves. So, I took that opportunity to snap some pictures of him going solo on his belly. He was pretty cooperative!

I love bath time!!!

This is a picture of what he’s like during bath time. He loves it! Now, he is able to sit up very well by himself, so he spends part of bath time just playing with his toys like a big boy. He’s got 2 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth (you can see some of them in the picture).

Thank you all for being supporters of my home-based business: Pumpernickel Gone A Rye! It is a diaper changing pads and women’s accessories shop on Etsy.com. I am proud to say that I made 2 more sales and am in the process of adding new inventory to my shop.

I am learning that old inventory cannot always stay in the shop and be expected to sell. I need to always be adding new inventory and will need to be taking out old inventory every once in awhile. Out with the old and in with the new!

The 2 sales I made were the headbands and another changing pad with the chartreuse and white elephants/chartreuse dandelions on white. That seems to be a popular one!

I just finished 2 sheer chiffon handkerchiefs that are hunter green and sky blue. They are 15″ by 15″ squares. Good as neckties…spread the word, people!

Upon our first week back, I was able to see something I hope I will continue to see as little N gets older. I love peeking into the living room while I’m cooking in the kitchen and seeing this:

In other news, little N now has 2 bottom teeth! 1 is almost completely in and the other one is 60% in. It’s amazing how the two teeth came in so quickly! I can’t believe how well his little body takes all the drastic changes!

He is also starting to eat some finger foods. Although hand-eye coordination is still pretty lacking, he was able to get one piece of pumpkin into his mouth after a few failed attempts. Unfortunately, after he got the pumpkin into his mouth, the poor thing realized that he didn’t really like the taste of pumpkin. Saaad.

Here are a few pics from our time at the beach and the beach house we are staying at.

We’ve got the beach, followed by a pic of Lydia and our friend and former-student, Monica from China. Then there’s Nathaniel enjoying the beach with his shovel, Nathaniel and his Daddy, and Nathaniel wearing his custom made seashell bikini. Then there’s a few pictures of Nathaniel and his Mama.

The trip has been simply relaxing, and as it takes energy to write this post and I’m still on vacation, I’m cutting it short for the sake of beach time. Enjoy the pics!
